Recently, Neurotechnologija, Ltd. announced that it has released new types of FingerCell Embedded Development Kit (EDK):
* FingerCell 1.2 Router EDK (for ASUS WL-500g router);
* FingerCell 1.2 Pocket PC EDK (for HP iPAQ h5xxx);
* FingerCell 1.2 PC EDK for Windows;
* FingerCell 1.2 PC EDK for Linux;
FingerCell 1.2 Router EDK
ASUSTeK Computer Inc is producing a router, which allows to run custom applications on it and to connect various hardware to it.
Thus, it is possible to use FingerCell 1.2 Router EDK for integrating fingerprint identification technology to this router. There are many possible applications, like using router only as remote scanner, or as scanner and feature extraction platform, or as complete fingerprint identification system, or as LPT-connected security device (doorlock etc.) control. All these applications could be a part of complex network-based biometric system (for example, router with scanner could communicate the remote matching server). The advantage of using the router for these applications is that hardware development is not required, because the router itself is quite popular, inexpensive (about USD 100.00) and easy to obtain.
Router software is running under Linux and provided by ASUS under GPL (General Public License).
EDK includes 1 license for FingerCell library, sample application, router software, documentation.
FingerCell 1.2 Pocket PC EDK
FingerCell 1.2 Pocket PC EDK is intended for developing biometric applications for HP iPAQ h5xxx pocket PC (HP iPAQ h38xx and h39xx series also will work with FingerCell, but the developer would have to use scanner interfaces from the scanner's manufacturer). This EDK allows to use FingerCell algorithm in iPAQ h5xxx series handheld devices, which include embedded fingerprint sensor, powerful processor and wireless communication. Additionally, iPAQ with FingerCell could be used as a part of complex network-based biometric system (for example, iPAQ could communicate with remote matching server).
EDK includes 1 license for FingerCell DLL, sample application to demonstrate usage of FingerCell library and software documentation.
FingerCell 1.2 PC EDK for Windows
FingerCell 1.2 PC EDK for Windows is intended for developers, who are going to use PC with MS Windows as part of their network biometric system.
EDK includes 1 license for FingerCell DLL, interfaces for image input from either files or fingerprint sensors, sample application with source code and software documentation.
FingerCell 1.2 PC EDK for Linux
FingerCell 1.2 PC EDK for Linux is intended for developers, who are going to use PC with Linux as part of their network biometric system.
EDK includes 1 license for FingerCell shared library, interfaces for image input from either files or fingerprint sensors, sample application with source code and software documentation. |
