U.are.U 4000B Reader
The U.are.U 4000B Reader is a USB
fingerprint reader designed for use with DigitalPersona¡¯s enterprise software applications and developer tools. The user
simply places their finger on the glowing reader window, and the reader quickly
and automatically scans the fingerprint. On-board electronics calibrate the
reader and encrypt the scanned data before sending it over the USB
interface.

U.are.U 4000B Module
The U.are.U 4000B Module is a miniature USB
fingerprint reader designed for integration into OEM equipment where
fingerprint verification or identification is needed. This self-contained
module optically scans the fingerprint when the user touches the glowing
window. Optical technology gives the
highest quality fingerprint scans and reliability.
The U.are.U 4000B Module is
designed to simplify OEM integration.
The module is sealed from dust and includes convenient mounting
features. The on-board electronics
automatically control calibration, encryption, and data transfer over the USB
interface. A ¡°Heavy Duty¡± version of the module is available for unattended public
installations and other high-use applications. The ¡°Small Footprint Outline¡± version
of the module is ideal for space-constrained applications such as keyboards,
touch screens and POS terminals.

The
U.are.U Fingerprint Keyboard is
a Windows-compatible
104-key keyboard with
a built-in U.are.U 4000B Fingerprint
Reader. The
keyboard is ideal for networked office environments
and e-commerce applications where
the convenience and security of fingerprint
authentication is required.
The
integrated U.are.U Reader uses optical
technology to achieve
excellent image quality, a larger capture area, and
superior reliability. Even the hardest-to-read
fingerprints are captured accurately
and quickly, regardless of placement

U.are.U Dragonfly Module
The U.are.U ¡°Dragonfly¡± is the latest of a new
generation small area, high-value fingerprint biometric module. This optical sweep-style reader is ideal for
OEM integration into point-of-sale terminals, computer peripherals and mobile computing
devices.
To use U.are.U ¡°Dragonfly¡± the user simply glides a finger over the glowing blue surface
where miniature optics read the fingerprint image. The glowing line enables
easy finger alignment resulting in improved usability. Optical technology gives the highest quality
fingerprint image while also providing the utmost in durability.
Gold and Gold CE SDK
DigitalPersona Gold Software Development
Kits (SDK) enable integrators and developers to
quickly add the power of fingerprint-based authentication to their
Microsoft® Windows-based applications.
DigitalPersona offers two Gold SDKs from which to choose. Developers select the SDK best fitting their
computing platform and the type of application.
DigitalPersona Gold SDKs
support several development environments and interfaces including Visual Studio
C++ and Java. The Gold CE SDK also
supports eMbedded Visual C++. The Gold SDK provides a proprietary database or developers may use their preferred
database. The flexibility of the Gold SDK enables developers to embed
fingerprint-based authentication in a limitless number of different application front ends.
One Touch for Windows SDK
The DigitalPersona
One Touch for Windows Software Development Kit (SDK) enables integrators and
developers to quickly add the power of fingerprint-based authentication to their Microsoft® Windows-based applications. DigitalPersona offers powerful SDKs which
feature the highest performing and most accurate fingerprint authentication algorithms in the industry.
In only a few hours, developers easily integrate
fingerprint authentication into their application and have access to a full
range of authentication services for their PC, embedded computer, POS terminal
or server solution. Sample code is
included to illustrate the capturing of a fingerprint, extracting a fingerprint
template and matching fingerprint templates.
Simple architecture diagrams, programming work-flow illustrations and
detailed documentation enable fast integration of
powerful fingerprint biometrics into

One Touch I.D. SDK
The One Touch I.D. SDK continues in the tradition of
DigitalPersona SDKs in providing solid, proven tools
for developers to incorporate into mission-critical
applications. The One Touch I.D. SDK extends the functionality of the DigitalPersona Gold,
Gold CE and Platinum SDKs with the ability to perform high-speed searches on a
large-scale collection of enrolled
fingerprints.
One Touch I.D. technology enables users to
simply touch a fingerprint reader to obtain a result rather than having to enter
a user name or PIN, as required in verification. Identification is fast and more convenient
with fingerprint systems when compared to verification-only methods.
Developers who have created
applications using the DigitalPersona Gold or Platinum
SDKs can improve their offerings with the addition of identification
capabilities. In
addition, the One Touch I.D. SDK incorporates a
licensing process, which is flexible and convenient. This process enables
you to establish expiration dates to limit the validity of enrolled
fingerprints, if needed. Once an enrolled fingerprint is licensed for use with
identification, it can be stored in any number of databases or computers and
retrieved from locations all over the world.
