NOTICE |
We would like to inform about the release of FingerCell 3.0 SDK for fingerprint recognition integration into embedded devices based on low-power microcontrollers.
FingerCell technology is designed for embedded biometric systems developers and features fast, compact, sensor-independent and cross-platform fingerprint recognition algorithm. The technology is designed for using in in compact devices that have limited on-board resources, such as: mobile phones, fingerprint door locks, access control panels, time and attendance systems, handheld payment and point-of-sale terminals, as well as various logon subsystems and small device components that can be integrated into cars and home electronics, among others.
FingerCell can extract a fingerprint template from an image and verify it against another template in less than 0.7 seconds on a 168 MHz ARM Cortex-M4 family processor. The algorithm is also suitable for identification (1-to-many matching) and matches about 250 fingerprints per second on the same hardware. FingerCell is fully tolerant to fingerprint translation and rotation and can recognize a fingerprint from a small portion of it.
The FingerCell technology includes a template extractor, template matcher and template stitching functionality, all optimized to run on embedded CPUs and microcontrollers. The template generator in FingerCell creates either proprietary or ANSI/ISO standard templates. The template stitching algorithm combines multiple fingerprint templates into a single template, which can significantly improve recognition accuracy, especially when small fingerprint sensors are used.
FingerCell 3.0 SDK can be provided as source code or as a static library package, which can be compiled into compact code for the required platform. The fingerprint template extraction algorithm requires only 128 kB of memory, whereas a single fingerprint template needs less than 450 bytes, depending on number of stored fingerprint features.
Sample hardware evaluation kit with the preinstalled FingerCell algorithm can be provided on request.
